What does dermaplaning or microdermabrasion involve?These are non‑invasive exfoliation techniques designed to remove dead skin cells, clear pore congestion, and reveal a brighter complexion. Often paired with steam, extractions, and mask therapy.

What’s the difference between fillers and micro‑needling with PRF?Fillers are injectable gels that instantly restore volume, smooth lines, and sculpt facial features. Micro‑needling with PRF uses tiny needles and your own blood‑derived growth factors to boost collagen over multiple sessions—great for texture, tone, dark spots, fine lines, and under‑eye rejuvenation.

What should I know about Botox/Dysport/Xeomin?These FDA‑approved neuromodulators temporarily relax facial muscles to reduce expression lines (such as forehead creases, frown lines, and crow’s feet). Both full treatments and top‑up injections are available.

How is Dysport different than Botox?Dysport contains smaller molecules than Botox, making it more “liquid” and allowing your injector to spread it across broader areas. Dysport is especially effective at treating areas like the forehead and neck, where creases tend to be longer and deeper.

What is Botox?Neuromodulators or muscle relaxants such as Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are used strategically to relax certain muscles that convey a negative connotation and to ‘wake up’ other muscles that convey a positive expression. Botox® Cosmetic is the number one aesthetic procedure in the world, for no other reason than it works! Patients decide to get a muscle relaxant such as Botox® or Dysport® for a number of reasons. When using these muscle relaxers, there is usually no downtime associated with them, which means that no one has to know unless you choose to tell them. The results appear gradually and disappear gradually, making the results subtle, yet dramatic.

Is Botox painful?Botox injections are generally well-tolerated, with most people experiencing only minimal discomfort. A small pinch or stinging sensation might be felt, but the procedure is quick and over before you know it.

How long does Botox last?Every patient is different depending on his or her metabolism of Botox. Most patients find their Botox injections last around 3-4 months. Certain patients metabolize Botox faster than others leaving them with Botox’s effects for 2-3 months, while others have the amazing benefit for up to 6 months. Over time Botox can fatigue the muscle allowing for less movement after the Botox wears off, allowing more time between injections.

How long does it take for Botox results to kick in?It takes about 7-14 days to see maximum results from Botox.

What Should I Expect After Botox? Is There Any Downtime?After your injection, you should expect a little bit of swelling and slight redness, which seems to resolve/go away in a matter of hours. Avoiding heavy exercise, salty foods, alcohol, and sleeping face down will help avoid excessive swelling.

Can Botox be used to slim the jawline?Yes. Patient’s with a strong masseter (chewing) muscle, often a result of TMJ or stress can be relaxed by Botox and create a softer jawline. This treatment is often known as facial feminization.

How Do Wrinkle Reducers (Neuromodulators/Neurotoxins) Like “Botox” Reduce Wrinkles?The wrinkle-reducing agents are injected into the muscle that is contracting to cause crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead lines. The medication will temporarily block the muscle to relax it and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. They also help to prevent the formation of future wrinkles with routine maintenance.

If I Try Botox Once Will I Need to Continue Treatments Forever?No! Most patients love their Botox injections so much they want to continue injections but it is not something you have to continue forever. Your Botox results will naturally fade if you decide to discontinue treatment.

What is Xeomin?Xeomin, contains a single ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, which can help reduce unnecessary muscle movements. The skin surrounding these muscles is relived of tension allowing existing wrinkles to fade and preventing new ones from forming.

How is Xeomin Different than Botox?Botox and Xeomin are very similar, however, there is one big difference. The ingredients. Botox is made up of a toxin, botulinum toxin type A, which allows it to temporarily reduce muscle movements, in addition to other ingredients. Xeomin contains only botulinum toxin type A, making it a popular option for those looking for a cleaner, or more allergy-friendly neurotoxin.

How long is the recovery after filler injections?Swelling and minor bruising are common and typically subside within a few days. For best results: Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours Apply a cold compress if needed Stay upright for at least 4–6 hours post-treatment Wait at least 2 weeks before considering any touch-ups

What should I avoid after Botox or Dysport injections?For the first 24 hours, avoid: Intense exercise Lying down flat for extended periods Rubbing or massaging the treated area Alcohol and excessive sun or heat exposure It can take up to 7–14 days for full results to appear.

What should I do after micro-needling with PRF?For the first 24–48 hours: Avoid makeup, sunscreen, and skincare products that contain retinol, AHAs, or fragrance Stay out of direct sun and avoid sweating Gently cleanse with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser Apply a hyaluronic acid serum if provided Peeling or flaking may occur as your skin renews—this is normal.

Is there downtime after a VI Peel or chemical peel?Yes, mild to moderate peeling usually starts around day 2 or 3 and can last 5–7 days. During this time: Don’t pick or peel the skin manually Use a gentle moisturizer as directed Avoid sun exposure and wear SPF daily Follow all post-peel instructions to maximize results

When can I wear makeup again?Makeup can usually be worn: 24 hours after Botox or filler (if no irritation) 2–3 days after micro-needling or a peel (or once skin is fully closed and healed) Always check with your provider before applying anything post-treatment.

What if I experience unusual swelling or side effects?Mild redness, tenderness, and swelling are normal. If you experience anything more severe—such as excessive bruising, lumps, or discomfort—please contact us immediately. We’re here to support you through your healing process.

What are lip fillers?Lip fillers are dermal fillers, aka soft tissue fillers which have been specifically formulated with lips in mind. These FDA-approved products are made from substances such as hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers add contour and volume to the lips, along with their many other uses to enhance facial profiles. Fillers are long-lasting but do fade away as the body metabolizes and absorbs them over time.

Are lip fillers permanent?Dermal fillers are long-lasting, but not permanent. Treatment may be repeated every few months to years depending on your body’s metabolic rate and the speed it breaks down fillers. Most patients choose to touch up their lip fillers every six months,

Can lip fillers be dissolved if I don't like the results?Yes! Lip fillers are completely reversible. If you receive filler treatment with a hyaluronic acid product, such as Juvéderm, Restylane, or Belotero, you may have some or all of your filler dissolved if you are not completely satisfied with your results. Treatment to dissolve hyaluronic acid dermal fillers involves injections of Hylenex.
